Waterloo Electrical Apprenticeship is a Joint Apprenticeship Training Program administered by a Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee (JATC).

The Waterloo Electrical Apprenticeship Committee (JATC) is made up of six members. Three members are selected by Waterloo/Cedar Falls, NECA Contractors to represent the employers and three members are selected by IBEW Local Union 288 to represent Labor.

Why is this important?

Because it means that every decision made at Waterloo Electrical Apprenticeship is made with the apprentice, and their success, in mind. Each decision made requires both sides of the table, both management and labor to work together, JOINTLY, to support the organized electrical industry and ensure the electrical apprentices receive the best training possible.

The apprentice’s success is the JATC’s success!

What is an employer-only apprenticeship?

An apprenticeship program where the decisions being made are being made by just the employer… not both sides of the table. So, who looks out for the employee/apprentice???

When it comes to apprenticeship programs, remember, not all apprenticeships are the same! Take time to ask question and confirm the apprenticeship program is looking out for you and your future!!!
